Red River is under contract to rebuild and repair water damaged components of the 1964/2016 Möller/Banks/Reuter organ at First Presbyterian Church in OKC.
40 ranks of pipes from the Great, floating Positiv, and Pedal divisions are removed to the RRPOC shop for washing, fitting with new stainless steel tuning collars, and remedial voicing regulation. Several ranks of water damaged pouches and primaries are also removed for releathering. On site, cotton-covered signal and return wire is being replaced with PVC-insulated wire, bringing it up to code. Water damaged relay cards are being replaced as necessary.
Concurrently, the Bombarde Tuba is undergoing repairs to aid with future tuning stability. Cotton-covered signal and return wires on the Swell side are also being replaced with PVC-insulated wire. The bottom octave of the Swell 8’ Trumpet is being fitted with full-length resonators to replace the current half-length resonators. Five Swell and Tuba reservoirs are being releathered. Rusted swell reservoir springs are being replaced, as well as the tremolos.
At the conclusion of these repairs and replacements, everything is reassembled for final tonal finishing and a complete core tuning of the instrument.
